Key Account Manager - Infectious Diseases - Yorkshire, North East England & East Scotland

Our client is a small sized internationally established Pharmaceutical company that focuses on the development, in-licensing and marketing of prescription products for the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. They are well established in the UK and with product line extensions and new diagnostic product launches will see their sales and growth continue to rapidly expand.

An opportunity exists within their new Infectious Disease team for a Key Account Manager to key stakeholder leaders in the NHS (such as infectious disease, healthcare for the elderly) for your territory to develop the usage your product as a relevant therapy that helps the NHS to achieve its aims by:

  • Creating and delivering on a business plan for your territory
  • Identifying and building relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Promoting to payor organizations in the NHS
  • Promoting to commercial firms / organisations involved in commissioning or provision of prescribing advice / services to the NHS
  • To remove barriers to access products in primary and secondary care
  • Ensuring products are appropriately listed on local and regional formularies (in accordance with indications and guidelines)
  • Negotiation / agreement of supply contracts
  • Placement / agreement of joint working initiatives, negotiation of Care Pathway design / service redesign

This autonomous role will see you effectively shape and develop your own business and be fully visible.

Your suitability for the role will be defined by your:

  • Expert knowledge of national and regional NHS trusts plans, strategy, policies and objectives
  • Ability to network proficiently with key decision makers involved in primary care networks and integrated care systems
  • In depth understanding of NHS decision making process, including knowledge of the funding agreements and flow in the region
  • Ability to work with key data sets and understand how to align strategy with the NHS priorities within the disease area.
  • Ability to speak credibly and influence senior and experienced leaders within the NHS
  • Ability in peer to peer discussions about company products and treatments to all levels of clinician and payor
