Market Access, Value and Pricing Manager - Rare Diseases - UK & ROI

This commitment is reflected in their support of programmes and activities for patients with rare plasma-protein related diseases, including bleeding disorders and primary immune deficiencies.

They collaborate with patient advocacy platforms, both disease-specific and umbrella organisations, to promote quality medical care and services and to improve and expand educational and outreach efforts.

They now seek a talented Market Access, Value and Pricing Manager who will support the development and implementation of payer access and reimbursement strategies, which optimise pricing and reimbursement at a national level but also create local access whenever needed, ensuring a positive environment for existing products and the launch of new products.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and demonstrate working knowledge of UK and Ireland market access and specialised commissioning environment and what impact the evolving environment may or will have on key strategic products
  • Identify initiatives aiming to remove barriers that could prevent, restrict or delay the availability of the clients products to patients, always in compliance with the ABPI code
  • Work cross functionally with Therapy Area Teams and Regional/Global Market Access to develop product value propositions and communication plans to influence and support optimal uptake
  • Develop a working knowledge of the UK and Ireland pricing environment e.g. Voluntary Pricing & Access Scheme (VPAS), The Statutory Scheme, IPHA Agreement in Ireland
  • Coordinate the preparation and submission for HTA review of new products/indications as required

Experience & Skills required:

  • Educated to degree level preferably in health economics/health policy or a scientific subject
  • A qualification / good knowledge of health economics, health policy and commissioning if not studied for degree is desirable
  • Significant pharmaceutical industry experience along with comprehensive understanding and up to date knowledge of NHS policy, structure and funding pathways at both national and local level
  • Management and development of product HTA submission experience desirable
