About the Opportunity
Our client is a growing pharmaceutical organisation seeking an experienced Commercial Portfolio & Pipeline Manager to support the continued growth of its UK Generics business.
This is a strategically important role focused on evaluating pipeline opportunities, developing commercial business cases, assessing market potential and guiding new products through the portfolio decision-making process.
Working across Commercial, Business Development, Regulatory, Supply Chain and Finance functions, you will play a key role in determining which opportunities progress to launch and how they are positioned for commercial success within the UK market.

Please note: This is not a traditional Product Management or Marketing role. We are specifically seeking candidates with experience in portfolio management, pipeline evaluation, business development, new product introduction (NPI) or commercial strategy within the UK generics pharmaceutical market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and prioritise new generic product opportunities for the UK market
  • Develop commercial business cases, financial models and portfolio recommendations
  • Assess market attractiveness, competitive dynamics, pricing opportunities and tender potential
  • Support portfolio expansion through pipeline evaluation and business development initiatives
  • Lead cross-functional projects to progress products through governance and launch readiness milestones
  • Contribute to launch strategy development across both hospital and retail generics channels
  • Assess commercial risks and opportunities associated with new product introductions
  • Work closely with Regulatory, Supply Chain, Legal and Commercial stakeholders to support informed decision-making
  • Develop and maintain portfolio planning tools, forecasting models and launch tracking systems
  • Present recommendations and insights to senior stakeholders to support strategic portfolio decisions


About You

  • Significant experience within the UK generics pharmaceutical market is essential
  • Experience in Portfolio Management, Pipeline Management, New Product Introduction (NPI), Business Development or In-Licensing
  • Proven track record of evaluating new product opportunities and developing commercial business cases
  • Strong understanding of hospital tenders, NHS procurement and retail generics channels
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
  • Experience balancing commercial opportunity, operational feasibility and market risk
  • Exposure to intellectual property considerations, exclusivity periods or launch-at-risk assessments would be highly advantageous
